Steel Wool “000” Super Fine

Steel wool is a very versatile material that can be used for cleaning and polishing metals, wood and plastic. Steel wool is made by shaving threads of steel from a thick soft steel wire.

Apart from cleaning, steel wool also has other uses such as keeping mice and rats away. Rats and mice will become very ill after eating coarse steel wool. Also steel wool can easily catch flame from a spark or 9v battery even when wet and is very useful in emergency situations.

Our steel wool comes in 5.5cm diameter rolls which are 10.5cm wide, and in 4 different graduations in coarseness

• #000 which has a thickness of 0.035mm is suitable for the final finishing of fine wood surfaces prior to varnishing and is extensively used by makers of music instruments and fine furniture. This steel wool will polish copper, aluminium, brass, silver and other precious metals to a bright mirror finish
